On Friday morning, I photographed Derrick’s homecoming at the Atlanta airport. I photographed Derrick’s wife and daughter earlier this year for his wife Devan to send to him as a surprise, so it was great to now be able to photograph the family’s reunion. While we were waiting for Derrick to arrive, CNN was there doing a story on troops returning home and asked Devan if they could film the family’s reunion after noticing their “welcome home” sign. I think Derrick was a little surprised at the cameras surrounding him when he stepped off the escalator.
Here is the family together being interviewed:
I love how she’s helping her dad with his bags!
